Michi and I had a chance to attend our first Cincinnati Comic Expo over the weekend. Had a GREAT time! Michi was the beautiful Queen Elsa of Arendelle (from Frozen), while I was her stalwart handler and bodyguard while the queen was on her state visit (that's my cousin on the left, who was also there as the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl). In spite of it being a comic con, seems the event is evolving to include a great many other genres, including furry; I saw at least two furs in full fursuit there (one was in the costume contest, in fact), and several others in various states of furry (ears, tails, etc). There was even a furry comic publisher (Ringtail Comics), as well as anime and MLP toy vendors in attendance.

Star Wars and Dr. Who seemed to be the two biggest cosplay subjects, but it also seemed to me that if there was interest in a genre or movie, their number was represented. As for Michi herself, she was VERY popular. People - especially kids - just love Elsa! She got quite a few compliments on her mile-long dress (minding it in crowds and on the escalator was a full-time job in and of itself!) and requests for photos, half of which was with the little ones who were there. We were so busy looking around and going to panels we never had the chance to spend a single cent on artwork or collectibles. Can't wait to go again next year. :)
